We value the insight and feedback we get from our customers and we are constantly working to find ways to improve our application to make it better, faster, and easier to use.
In the weeks since I hired on as the UX Engineer at Adzerk, I’ve made it my top priority to find out what our customers are doing in our application. To this end, we’ve added software that will allow us to see where folks are clicking, what pages they’re using, and what the problem areas are. I’m studying alternate (and hopefully improved) ways of arranging tools so that tasks like uploading inventory, tracking, and running reports will be more intuitive and take less time to complete.
Including:
The first change to be rolled out will be the navigation updates, which we hope to release this Friday, August 12. We first decided to make these changes based on the information we’ve gathered from talking to our customers, as well as seeing what tools are getting the most use in the application based on our web metrics reports.
Using our reports as a guide, we determined the four most common tasks completed on the site, and set out to find a way to optimize the navigation in such a way as to allow quicker completion times for those tasks. For the curious, the tasks were:
The first thing you may notice in the new navigation is that there are fewer tabs across the top. We moved most of the ‘Settings’ tab to a ‘Settings’ dropdown menu in the upper right-hand corner. This dropdown also includes other things that generally aren’t used as frequently.
Another change is the creation of a ‘Network Tools’ section for tools related to network management- this section includes Channels, Send Payments, Ledger, and the Calculate Earnings report. Advertisers is now nested under Campaigns, and you will also notice that actions like, ‘Add New Advertiser’ or ‘Add New Campaign’ are now buttons within their respective pages.
Our hope is that these changes will make Adzerk easier to use; but going forward we’ll be watching and listening to make sure this is the case.
If you have any problems or questions about the change, or if you’ve just generally used our software and have ideas of how it could be better, please let us know! Going forward, we’ll be seeking constant input from real life users to make sure that the changes we make are the right ones. Shoot me an email at sarah@adzerk.com, or pop onto chat the next time you’re logged in. We’d love to hear from you!
