Click Goal Type
This week, we’re adding a new option to control the way Flights are served. Previously, Flights could be paced to reach an impressions goal or as a percentage of the available traffic. Click Goals give you the ability to serve a Flight according to a desired number of Clicks, as well as the ability to determine whether the Flight should be served to get clicks as fast as possible, or be served evenly from begin date to end date.
‘Clicks’ is now an available choice in the Goal Type dropdown in General Settings for Flights.
How it works.
When configuring a new or existing Flight, look in the General Settings tab. Under ‘Goal Type’, ‘Clicks’ is now an option. When you select the Goal type option for ‘Click’, the Speed dropdown will then appear, giving you the ability to select ‘Serve this flight as fast as possible’, or ‘Serve this flight evenly’.
A slight word of caution is necessary because while adOS will throttle the pace of the flight so that it evenly achieves its click goal over the life of the flight (unless you’ve set it to serve as fast as possible), clicks can be unpredictable. Depending on the CTR of the creatives it may be necessary for Click Goal flights to serve a lot of impressions to get the necessary clicks.
