Ad Server Veripixel Tracking
In keeping with our recent improvements to Adzerk’s ad code (the fastest in the world!) we’re happy to announce the release of Veripixel tracking. Veripixel changes the point in an ad request that we count an impression. Its designed to reduce third party discrepancies as well as give a more accurate count of ads that were actually rendered on the page.
Track Impressions more accurately with Veripixel
What does it do?
When a page with an Adzerk ad on it loads, each ad returned from Adzerk will accompany a tracking pixel. When the browser renders the ad the tracking pixel will also tell Adzerk to record an impression.
There are scenarios where an ad would be returned from Adzerk but not rendered by the browser (perhaps the user clicks away before the page fully loads, or the source of the page is missing the <div> required to show the ad). In these cases an ad impression won’t be counted against the campaign that was returned. If the page doesn’t load the ad then the pixel doesn’t record an impression.
How to use it
It doesn’t require any changes on your part! Once this is turned on, we’ll automatically start sending pixels and stop counting requests.
note: You may notice your impression volume decrease by a few percent since we’re only counting ads that are displayed. This should be minimal and only make your numbers match your advertiser’s numbers more closely.
