Reporting Improvements

This week we have some improvements to our reports! We’ve added a new option to Custom reports, as well as some big upgrades to the backend.

New Report Options

We’ve now added the ability to run reports by Publisher Account in the Custom report tool.

New Custom Report The Custom Reporting page now includes Publisher Account as an option for both restricting the results as well as grouping by.

Backend Upgrades

Reporting takes a lot of server resources. Since Adzerk is growing by leaps and bounds, we’ve recently made some upgrades to make Reporting faster than ever.

We recently upgraded the server that runs the reports to a larger server with additional CPUs and memory – but more importantly we have updated the reporting server that stores all of the data. Amazon recently announced a new instance called the High I/O Quadruple Extra Large:

Instances of this family provide very high disk I/O performance and are ideally suited for many high performance database workloads. High I/O instances provide SSD-based local instance storage, and also provide high levels of CPU, memory and network performance. High I/O Quadruple Extra Large 60.5 GB memory, 35 EC2 Compute Units, 2 * 1024 GB of SSD-based local instance storage, 64-bit platform, 10 Gigabit Ethernet

The second we saw it announced we knew it was a match made in heaven. Last weekend we spun up one of the new instances and moved our reporting db over. You should notice that larger reports should return quicker – if not let us know!
